HARLEQUIN OLYMPICS 2012
To commemorate this years Olympics we are holding a special event on Sunday August 12th 2012.
The day will belong to the Giants Breeds who enjoy “doing something different” regardless of their size.
This will be an “Olympic” celebration of you and your dog’s own personal achievement …. No matter what you do … you are having FUN together.
GOING FOR GOLD
Your personal goal might be to let your dog off lead while competing – and he stays focused on you? For someone else it might be to have your dog off lead AND achieve a clear round at agility or be rather proud of your dog’s obedience – it is all about YOUR PERSONAL GOAL with your best pal. And if you have a Giant Breed that is having fun with you that – in my book is “GOLD”!
There will be three categories that all dogs must enter.
1. OBEDIENCE (rally)
working to a set course of 20 instructions on the ground.
2. AGILITY COURSE
includes Weaves and all Contact equipment.
3. JUMPING COURSE
that will challenge the “Dash and Dare” in your dog.
There will be a choice of two categories to enter: Beginners or Advanced.
TRAINING
This season Giant Breed classes will be structured a bit different to help you “coach” the “athlete” that is “waiting for the moment to show you just what a Giant Breed can really achieve” for the three disciplines required on the day.
We will be offering six training sessions up until (and including) July 29th in readiness for the HARLEQUIN OLYMPICS on August 12th!
Dates are as follows:
May 13th and May 27th
June 10th and June 24th
July 8th and July 29th
Each session will start at 11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. with:
AGILITY
Then break for half an hour.
1.00 p.m. – 2.00 p.m. (you can choose to join either workshop or alternate each time you come).
JUMPING or RALLY OBEDIENCE.
Points will be awarded on the day for all three categories. A maximum of forty points could be earned in each discipline seeing the overall winner for the Beginner and Advanced categories …. The dog and handler that has gained the most points overall in all three.
Each two hour training session will be priced the same as last year: £15.00.
